Fall Tranquility at Oak Creek Canyon Sedona

This is located in Oak Creek north of Sedona, Arizona, which I visited in October of 2016. As I was standing by the creek observing the surroundings, the sun momentarily slipped behind some clouds, lending a soft mysterious light over the creek that the afternoon. The creek's turbulent flow over the rocks in the background transitions into a smooth calm along a deeper and wider pool of water, reflecting the tranquility around it.

McDowell Mountain Slopes After the Rain

I went hiking one afternoon in spring on the Sunrise Trail in the McDowell Mountain Preserve of Scottsdale, Arizona, a day after heavy rains. The rain clouds were still departing and the ground showed the grooves and streaks the rainwater left as it flow down the mountainside.  This is a natural landscape in the beautiful Sonoran desert of the Southwestern United States.

This depicts a scene right before sunset of several giant boulders perched on a hilltop next to the Pinnacle Peak mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona, in the Sonoran desert of the Southwestern United States.  Several large Saguaros in the foreground are easily dwarfed by the boulders.

This depicts a scene right before sunset of a view of buttes from a hiking trail in the Papago Park area in Phoenix, Arizona, in the Sonoran desert of the Southwestern United States.  The soft warm glow of the fading sunlight shines on the features of the rocky buttes and casts long shadows on the foreground.
